We design how a space feels, not just how it looks

Mood & Mantel was created with a simple brief: beautiful design should feel approachable, personal, and attainable.

Hello, I’m Michelle - the founder of Mood & Mantel, based in West Lothian, Scotland.

My passion for interiors began during the renovation of my own home — an Edwardian house built in 1912. What started as a personal project soon became a defining journey, one that revealed the quiet power of thoughtful design and the profound impact it can have on the way a home feels and functions each day.

After welcoming my third child, I decided to formally pursue that passion and completed a diploma in interior design. As they say, the rest is history - and Mood & Mantel was born.

Today, I create interiors that balance timeless elegance with everyday practicality — spaces that are thoughtfully tailored, deeply personal, and designed to feel effortlessly lived in. My approach is considered and collaborative, with each project shaped around your style, your home, and the way you live.

If you’re ready for a home that feels cohesive, refined, and unmistakably yours, I would be delighted to help bring it to life. ‍

The image shows a black front door with a large glass window, surrounded by floral wallpaper in dark green, pink, orange, and yellow tones. There are decorative plants in black and metallic pots, and a pink dog-shaped toy on the floor. The floor is tiled in a black and white geometric pattern, and a small black side table is placed beside the door. A sign on the door reads 'West End'.
